INSTALLATION

Templating:

Our technicians will arrive on the job site to make accurate patterns of the areas where the granite will be installed.
Before a master template can be made certain requirements must be met.

Cabinet Placement & Fastening: The cabinets must be set and fastened into their permanent location at the time of the templating. The cabinets must be straight and level with one another.

Cabinets/Sub-Tops: For new cabinets, please specify to the cabinet-maker that you are planning to use granite as the countertop. This will help them ensure that the cabinets are straight, level, fastened & shimmed properly, to provide the proper support for the granite. If you plan to use your current cabinets existing countertops must be removed prior to the installation process. Although not normally done by our technicians, arrangements can be made prior to templating for Elegant Creations to remove your current tops. Please have your cabinetry inspected, properly fastened and shimmed before the templating process. This will insure a reliable support & a good installation of your new granite counter top.

Sinks: Please be sure that all sinks and faucets are at the jobsite at the time of templating. This will allow us to go over faucet placement, as well as allowing us to bring your sink & faucet back with us to insure the proper fit.

Stove Tops: If you choose to have a cook top or lip over range is important that the appliance is at the jobsite when our technician is templating. This unit fits very closely to the cutout. , therefore it must be measured very accurately. It is however the responsibility of the homeowner that all appliances are the right sizes for the cabninetry.

Fabrication & Installation:

After the templating process is finished the fabrication process will begin using the exact specifications we gathered during the templating process. During the fabrication process our experienced cutting specialists are required to make decisions about where to place the necessary joints also called seams. Our technicians will keep the joints to a minimum, while maximizing the stone use of each slab. Our fabricators, and installers are all highly skilled in order to cut, fabricate, and install these granite countertops in your home.

Installation of your granite occurs on average 3-10 working days after templating. We will contact you to arrange a time and date for a templating and installation. Installation normally takes one day, however some larger jobs may take longer.

The installation area should be free of construction materials, and appliances. The jobsite should have water, and electricity available to our installers. When your granite countertop has been installed, and cleaned, our technicians will apply a penetrating sealer to the surface of the countertops. The installation is now complete; however, you should allow a period of at least 12 hours before major use. Before our crew leaves the jobsite we will be sure that the jobsite is clean to your satisfaction.
